Ox-Eye Vineyards
Ox-Eye Vineyards is a family run vineyard and winery in the Shenandoah Valley. At Ox-Eye the Kiers family produces and bottles 100% estate wines. The vineyard site is notable for its elevation of 1800 feet, deep sandy-loam soil, and cool climate that helps to produce well balanced, fruit-forward wines.

Meet the winemaker:
John Kiers
When John and Susan Kiers bought a farm in 1996, John only intended to be a grape grower. But after about ten years of selling his fruit to other wineries, reading many books on winemaking, and helping out in any way he could at other wineries in order to learn, John decided it was time to build his own winery. 2025 will be John’s 15th vintage making his own wine, and 26th year growing grapes. His ideology is that good wine starts in the vineyard.
